What is a physiotherapist? 

Physiotherapist/Physical Therapist are movement experts who optimize quality of life through prescribed exercise, hands-on care, and patient education.  Physiotherapists teach patients how to prevent or manage their condition so that they will achieve long term health benefits.  PT's examine each individual and develop a plan using techniques to promote the ability to move, reduce pain, restore function and prevent disability.

What do I need to bring?

Bring your insurance card, if applicable, and a referral from your medical doctor. As well as relevant imaging reports and your list of medication(s). Please ensure your insurance information is presented two days before your initial evaluation to ensure insurance coverage.

How many visits will I need?

The number of visits will vary depending on the outcome measures of the patient's evaluation.  After a thorough assessment, the Physiotherapist will discuss the patient's intervention/plan of care.

What should I wear?

Loose fitting clothing and sneakers.

How do I make an appointment?

Do I have to be referred by a doctor?

Yes. Your doctor has to evaluate and diagnose you before referring you to physiotherapy. Also your insurance company requires a medical doctor's referral to authorize coverage.
